The Slovak Mining Museum completed the project activity “Resonance in Silence”

The Slovak Mining Museum (SBM) is proud to announce the opening of its latest exhibition “Resonance in Silence”, which is the culmination of several years of work and efforts to connect art with ecology. This exceptional exhibition, as part of the Green Mission – Slovak Mining Museum for Climate project, presented works created by children from Banská Štiavnica and Norway in collaboration with artists during creative workshops on the theme of art and climate change.

The aim of the project activity was to highlight the importance of protecting the environment and to motivate children to protect it even more. The exhibition is held in the spirit of raising awareness about global climate change and promoting ecological thinking.

During the exhibition opening, which took place on Friday, 15 March in the Jozef Kollár Gallery in Banská Štiavnica, visitors had the opportunity to meet the children artists from Banská Štiavnica and take part in interactive experiments and discussions about the impact of man on nature. The exhibition will run until 10 June 2024.

“Resonance in Silence” presents the work of children from Banská Štiavnica and Norway who, under the guidance of artists Oto Hudec and Damian Vega, created works during the autumn workshops in 2023.

The project activity was implemented with the support of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the state budget of the Slovak Republic, which facilitated the activity’s high professional level and quality.

The Slovak Mining Museum would like to thank everyone who participated in the project, especially the children for their energy and creativity, the teachers for their organization work, Martina Martincova for the concept and realization of the exhibition and the artists and museum staff for their invaluable contributions.

We look forward to more events that will continue in the mission of spreading awareness about the importance of protecting our planet for future generations.

At the same time, we would like to remind you that on Wednesday 20 March 2024, the Jozef Kollár Gallery will host the event “The Science of Water”, which further develops the theme of the exhibition and offers another opportunity for education about and interaction with the topic of water and its importance for the health of our ecosystem.
